If there’s one thing the McLaren Senna doesn’t need, it’s more power, as it is already neck-snapping fast. However, that’s exactly what Hennessey Performance did with their HPE1000 performance kit.
It consists of upgraded turbochargers, high-flow wastegate, intercooler, high-flow air filters, stainless steel turbo headers, a Motec engine management system and a stainless steel exhaust. Even the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission has been modified to better cope with the extra muscle produced by the 4.0-liter V8.

How much power are we looking at? The Texas-based tuner hasn’t released any official specs yet; nonetheless, the HPE1000 moniker suggests at least 1,000 horsepower, which would make it 211 hp more powerful than the stock Senna that sprints to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.8 seconds, as per the official McLaren spec sheet, and maxes out at 208 mph (340 km/h).
Besides the HPE1000, Hennessey’s offering the HPE900 kit as well, with pretty much the same upgrades, more or less, but in a slightly more restrained package – if you can call 900 HP “restrained”.
Selecting either will add ‘Hennessey’ and ‘HPE900’ or ‘HPE1000’ decals on the outside, a serial numbered dashboard plaque inside and another one in the engine compartment. The HPE900 comes with a 3-year/36,000-mile (57,936 km) warranty, whichever comes first; since this standard practice for their packages, we presume the same applies for the HPE100 as well.
After completing internal testing, Hennessey will come back with more information and some official performance numbers, alongside a more revealing image gallery.
