If you’re a fan of the 1995 Toyota Land Cruiser, the following example which underwent a series of modifications from Icon could just be your dream ride.
This particular Land Cruiser is owned by comedian Joe Rogan and was recently sent to Icon for a series of comprehensive alterations. To create the finished vehicle you see in the video below, Icon completely disassembled the Land Cruiser and essentially started from scratch, building a Land Cruiser which will allow Rogan to pursue his love of long expeditions and hunting.
Icon outfitted the car with OEM parts, or better, when re-assembling the off-roader and even went to the trouble of replating or replacing every single nut and bolt. From there, virtually every other aspect of the Land Cruiser was enhanced.
Powering Rogan’s latest ride is an LSA 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine which pumps out 560 hp and 580 lb-ft (786 Nm) of torque. While that sounds like heaps, Icon notes that when that grunt is sent through the four-speed GM automatic transmission and transfer case to the wheels, the car delivers 360 horses to the road.
It’s no rocketship but that power, as well as the impressive torque figure, should ensure this Land Cruiser can cross perilous terrain with ease. Icon set the vehicle’s odometer back to zero considering the extensiveness of the restoration.
We’re not sure how much such a comprehensive restoration for a Land Cruiser like this costs, but it clearly wasn’t cheap.
