The Ford Explorer and Jeep Wrangler are the most iconic vehicles to be featured in the Jurassic Park franchise, but they’re far from the only ones.
Following the success of the original movie, Mercedes decided to promote its new ML-Class in The Lost World: Jurassic Park. This was a savvy marketing move as it introduced millions of people to the brand’s first crossover while also showcasing how rugged it was.
The film received mixed reviews, but the ML played a heroic role. It was prominently featured in a dramatic T-Rex attack where the crossover had to prevent an RV from falling over a cliff with Jeff Goldblum inside.
That brings us to this interesting eBay find which is a replica of the vehicle featured in the movie. However, in this case, it’s a 2002 ML320 Sport with 213,000 miles (342,790 km) on the odometer.
Given that it’s a replica, it’s not surprising to learn the model has a camouflaged exterior with steel ‘body armor’ and a roof rack. The crossover also boasts a Warn winch and green painted wheels that are wrapped in BF Goodrich Mud Terrain KM-2 tires.
The interior appears to be in decent shape, but the seller does mention a handful of issues. These include a leaking power steering pump, door lock problems and a tear on the driver’s side seat. The original bumpers are also cracked and the check engine light is on due to what’s being described as a “loose gas filler neck.”
The vehicle doesn’t look half bad, but the seller wants $14,000 (£10,650 / €12,492) for it. That’s a lot of money for a 17 year old Mercedes ML, but the owner claims it’s one of only three road-legal replicas in existence.
