Every now and then, some cars are listed up for auction which simply beggar belief. Like this 1999 Ferrari F355 Spider, for example.
What you’re looking at is a pile of charred and destroyed metal that, prior to its demise, used to be a Ferrari. With the possible exception of the wheels, there is absolutely no indication about what type of vehicle this pile of mess once was. However, perhaps in an attempt to cash in on this being a ‘Ferrari,’ the hunk of scrap has been listed for sale on Copart.
No details have been offered about the fire which led to the F355’s destruction, but the listing confirms that it is a non-repairable vehicle write-off. Thanks for that, we never would have guessed…

As there is no engine, no mileage details have been provided but the listing does go to the trouble of stating that the car once had a 3.5-liter V8 driving the rear wheels through a manual transmission. The listing even states that the vehicle has an estimated retail value of $101,489. That valuation would have only been accurate prior to the F355 being turned into a pile of rubble, of course.
Now, you might be thinking that no one would ever think to pay any amount of money whatsoever on what is a bunch of melted, twisted, rusted, and broken scrap metal. That’s what we thought, too – but when we checked the listing again, we saw that it had been sold! Yep, someone paid really money for that – and no, we have absolutely no clue who, why or how much.
