The facelifted BMW 7-Series isn’t exactly the sexiest thing on wheels to look at. In fact, for many readers (…but possibly not buyers) the car’s huge kidney grilles have become the stuff of memes. The Carvlogger channel on YouTube is here to show us that grilles aside, the latest 7-Series is a very impressive luxury sedan.
It takes a detailed look at a European-spec BMW M760Li xDrive which has gone through the BMW Individual programme and costs the equivalent of $308,750.
To get to that price, the person (or dealership) which ordered this 7-Series, selected a number of optional extras. These include a panoramic glass roof for $2,510, a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System for $5,319, and the ‘professional’ entertainment system for an additional $3,705. The BMW Personal CoPilot Pack has also been selected, adding $2,794 to the asking price. All up, this M760Li xDrive has in excess of $28,000 worth of options.
One of the most important things to know about the BMW 7-Series variant in question is that it is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.6-liter V12 engine with 601 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. This powertrain helps the vehicle accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in a blistering 3.9 seconds before topping out at an electronically-limited speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
The good thing about the facelifted 7-Series is that its interior is absolutely gorgeous and appears to be very comfortable. That’s a good thing because the longer you spend inside the 7-Series, the less time you have to spend outside looking at that grille.
