Toyota is bringing a special edition Hilux pickup to the 2019 Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham that takes place from April 30 until May 2.
The automaker says the new model “reflects the ongoing growth in European sales of Toyota’s renowned pick-up as a lifestyle choice.” Called simply the Hilux 2019 Special Edition, the new variant brings exclusive exterior and interior design features for both Double Cab and Extra Cab models.
On the outside, the special edition Hilux sports Black and Dark Grey components including the front upper grille surround, fog lamp bezel, skid plates, door and tailgate handles, mirror caps as well as rear bumper corners and skid plate. Furthermore, Toyota throws in new 18-inch alloys as well in a two-tone finish for Western European markets and all-black finish for Eastern Europe.
Inside, the Hilux 2019 Special Edition comes with an all-black interior, chrome instrument panel detailing, and piano black inserts on the dash, steering wheel, gear lever, gear shift surround, and door cards. Also unique are the instrument dials with a white background and a dedicated Hilux 2019 Special Edition signature animation appearing on the central TFT screen when the ignition is switched on.
Even the key is model-specific, as it features a silhouette sketch of the pickup truck’s frontal design. As with all Hilux models, the Toyota Safety Sense safety pack is available on the special edition version as well. It includes features such as Pre-Collision System (PCS) with day and night pedestrian detection and daytime cyclist detection, High-Speed Range Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Road Sign Assist (RSA) and Lane Departure Alert (LDA) with brake induced steering.
The Hilux 2019 Special Edition will go on sale throughout Europe from August as part of an upgraded Hilux model range. However, Toyota hasn’t gotten into specifics regarding the updates in store for regular Hilux models.
