In just four months’ time, the long-awaited Porsche Taycan will premiere at the Frankfurt Auto Show. but before that happens, a handful of media members have had the opportunity to ride shotgun in prototypes.
This clip from ThomasGeigerCar, saw the YouTuber jump into the passenger seat of the Taycan. Despite not having the opportunity to drive the car, he seems pretty impressed with the vehicle which Porsche has produced, even though some final touches are still being made before customer deliveries commence next year.
It is well known that a number of different Taycan derivatives will be produced. The range-topping model, expected to be dubbed the ‘Turbo’, will allegedly deliver around 600 hp. This should be enough to accelerate the all-wheel drive electric sedan to 100 km/h (62 mph) in the low-3 second range. Additionally, this model is expected to have a top speed of roughly 250 km/h (155 mph) and should be capable of traveling in excess of 500 km (311 miles) on a single charge.

One of the most important features of the Taycan will be its use of an 800-volt electrical system which means plugging it into a charger for just four minutes should add about 100 km (62 miles) of range.
Porsche has put the Taycan through a rigorous development programme and tested the car in more than 30 countries in temperatures ranging between minus 35 degrees Celsius and plus 50 degrees Celsius (-31 to 122 degrees Farenheit). Approximately 6 million kilometres (3.7 million miles) of testing has been done.
