The all-new Jeep Gladiator may be cool, and very capable, but if the zombie apocalypse struck, wouldn’t you much rather be driving this 1995 Hummer H1 2-door pickup currently for sale on Bring A Trailer instead?

The listing reveals that this Hummer is currently located in Texas but has spent much of its life in Virginia, Arkansas, and Iowa. The auction kicked off with no reserve and, at the time of writing, there was a highest bid of $40,250 with just under a day left on the auction.

The brash pickup truck is powered by a 6.5-liter diesel V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission complete with a transfer case. The Hummer H1 certainly isn’t the most refined vehicle on earth, but has built up a cult following for its off-road prowess and its popularity with the military. Throughout its production run which stretched from 1992 to 2006, it was offered with a four V8s: a 6.2-liter diesel, a 6.5-liter diesel, a 5.7-liter petrol, a 6.5-liter turbo diesel and a 6.6-liter turbo V8.

This particular H1 pickup has undergone a series of modifications and includes brush guards, a snorkel intake, roof rack, and various LED light bars. It was repainted in its factory shade of white last year and the 20-inch aftermarket wheels sit on Atturo Trail Blade M/T tires. A spray-in liner has also been applied to the bed and the odometer currently sits at 36,000 miles (58,000 km).

Much like a sports car, you don’t buy a Hummer to be practical. You buy it to make a statement, and in that role it excels. The fact that it can carry much more than any sports car thanks to its huge bed is a nice bonus.
