Street racing is never a good idea – and the following video perfectly illustrates what can go wrong if you treat local roads like your own private racetrack.
The following clip was recorded a couple of days ago along Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington D.C and captures the moment a Ford Mustang and an SUV crash at high speed.
At approximately 5 seconds into the video, filmed from the dashcam of an Uber driver’s vehicle, a silver SUV speeds past in the middle lane. Just behind it is a black (or dark green) Ford Mustang and the duo can be seen attempting to speed around a sweeping right-hand bend on the interstate.

The SUV appears to get into trouble shortly after starting to turn and seems to understeer towards the concrete barriers on the side of the interstate. At the same time, the driver of the Mustang taps the brakes a couple of times, evidently after discovering that they were going way too fast to make the corner.
It looks like the Mustang overtakes the SUV around the turn, but then the rear end of the Ford snaps out and sends the car barrelling into the barrier. The driver of the SUV loses control shortly afterwards and also slams into the barrier. As the cammer drives past, it’s clear that the Mustang has suffered significant front and rear-end damage. The SUV doesn’t appear to be as badly damaged and the occupants can be seen exiting.
If for some reason you need reminding that pedal-to-the-metal driving should be limited to the safe confines of a track, look no further than the following video.
