Breakups are rough, especially when the relationship has gone on for nearly 90 years.
There’s an inevitable sadness that comes with parting ways and it appears Opel has moved onto a new stage of desperation as they’ve introduced the O-Team Zafira Life which wants to be a GMC Vandura when it grows up.
Built by Opel Special Vehicles, the O-Team draws inspiration from the iconic van featured on the A-Team. As a result, it has been equipped with a brush guard, a rear spoiler and extended side skirts.
Elsewhere, the van has 20-inch BBS wheels which are wrapped in Michelin Cup 2 tires. There’s also an eye-catching tri-color livery which looks nothing like the far more subtle Vandura.
The styling changes continue in the cabin as the model has front sports seats sourced from the Insignia GSi. They feature leather and Alcantara upholstery as well as neon yellow contrast stitching. Other upgrades include unique trim, neon yellow accents and an 800 watt audio system.

Another area where the Zafira departs from the Vandura is under the hood. The concept features a 2.0-liter diesel engine that produces 175 hp (130 kW / 177 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. It sends power to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. To compensate for its shortcomings, the model has been equipped with a sound module that provides “vocal chords of a V8 petrol engine.”
While the van is a concept, Opel said the changes have been approved by the TÜV so it’s “quite possible that more O-Team versions will soon be on Germany’s roads.”
