BMW hasn’t introduced a Mercedes X-Class competitor, but that doesn’t mean you can’t buy a Bimmer pickup.

As noticed by a Redditor, there’s a camo-wrapped BMW 3-Series E90 pickup for sale in Washington. The poster didn’t say much about the luxury ute, but an ad for the car reveals it is based on a 2006 330i and was built for the 2018 Gambler 500.

The seller notes the car is in “poor condition” and that’s a bit of an understatement as the model has a cracked plexiglass windshield and isn’t exactly water tight.  The latter issue resulted in the car getting a “little moldy inside over the winter.” The seller says they’ve since cleaned out the mold, but it’s still a “little smelly.”

If that hasn’t deterred you, the 3-Series has a fake ram air hood and a brush guard that looks like little more than a bent steel tube. Moving further back, we can see the original side mirrors have been replaced by some rather tacky looking units which are now mounted on the hood.

And unless it means something else that evades us, it features some potentially racist “KKK” badging on the front fender. Whoever modified the vehicle also kept the rear doors intact, but they don’t appear to be functional.

While the truck isn’t exactly a thing of beauty, the seller is only asking $1,800 (£1,380 / €1,608) for it.  The model has approximately 160,000 miles (257,495 km) on the odometer and it appears that most the electronics still work.

This particular truck is a homebrew job, but BMW M actually built a pickup back in 1986. Designed to transport parts and equipment, the one-off truck remained in use for over 26 years.

More recently, BMW unveiled the “world’s first high-performance pickup” on April Fool’s Day 2011. Featuring a removable roof and a 414 hp (309 kW / 420 PS) V8 engine, BMW said the pickup would “fire the imaginations of all motorists with a deep appreciation of top performance matched by a keen practical bent.”
