The McLaren 600LT is no 675LT, but it’s suprisingly close. In fact, the unofficial lap time of 1.17:84 achieved recently at the Magny-Cours Club track has revealed a gap of only 36 tenths of a second between the two.
To put it in a different perspective, if the 600LT and 675LT would have went against each other, then it would’ve ended in a photo finish. Moreover, compared to the big, bad 720S, the 600LT Coupe was only 1.04 seconds slower on the 1.7 km (1.1 miles) long French racetrack.

It also proved faster than the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Porsche 911 (991.2) GT3 and Mercedes-AMG GT R, and slower than some highly-regarded supercars, including the Lamborghini Huracan Performante, Ferrari 488 Pista and Porsche 911 (991.2) GT2 RS. As for the car holding the first position at Magny-Cours Club, it’s yet another McLaren: the Senna.
Aside from releasing the unofficial lap times at the circuit, MotorsportMagazine has also dropped a video that shows the 600LT being raced against the clock. Shot from the driver’s perspective, it will likely get your blood pumping for a few seconds as the supercar copes with the lateral G forces and is on the edge of losing grip. The top speed achieved on the short straight is 223 km/h (139 mph), or about 20 km/h (12 mph) slower than the Senna, whose run you can view here, after checking out the 600LT in action below, of course.
