After launching the Storm Edition X-Class back in November of 2018, Mercedes decided to offer UK buyers a new limited edition spec dubbed ‘Element’. It features enhanced specification, branded graphics and a choice of two metallic and one solid paint.
The X-Class Element Edition is available exclusively through the Mercedes-Benz Vans Retailer network in the UK, and like its nomenclature suggests, there will only be a limited number of these trucks available.
What makes the Element Edition special?
For starters, it’s based on the high-spec Progressive trim level, which means that it has painted bumpers with a simulated under guard in matte black, aluminum door sills with ‘Mercedes-Benz’ lettering, chrome door handles, a load securing rail system, heated exterior mirrors and an iridium silver matte radiator grille.
Meanwhile, novelties include the black roof liner, Comfort Pack (with Artico leather upholstery), 19-inch alloy wheels, the Style Pack (LED headlights, taillights, privacy class, running boards, roof rails), special edition livery, and a load bed liner with a roll cover option. Buyers also get to choose between Chisana White (solid) and Diamond Silver or Kabara Black metallic paints.

Since the Element Edition is an X 250d 4MATIC model, this means power comes from a 2.3-liter four-cylinder diesel engine putting down 190 PS (188 HP) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque.
As for its passive and active safety equipment, the following features are standard: driver and passenger airbags and thorax bags, window bags on the A-D pillar, driver knee bag, Active Brake Assist (radar-based autonomous emergency braking), Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, Hill Start Assist, Reversing Camera, Anti-theft protection package, ECO start/stop function and ESP (Trailer Stability Assist can be added at a cost).
