Nissan Ultimate Parks Titan Is A Purpose-Built Truck For The Grand Canyon

Hot on the heels of the unveiling of the Destination Frontier, Nissan has introduced the Ultimate Parks Titan.

Designed to celebrate the Grand Canyon’s 100th anniversary as a national park, the model is a “purpose-built park support vehicle” that will be donated to the Grand Canyon Conservancy following its debut at Overland Expo West.

Based on the Titan XD PRO-4X Crew Cab, the truck has been designed to transport people and their gear to the remote corners of Grand Canyon National Park. In order to ensure the Titan can tackle the tough terrain, the model has been equipped with a 3-inch lift kit, a Hellwig air suspension and 35-inch Nitto Trail Grappler tires.

The modifications don’t end there as the Titan’s frame was extended to accommodate a custom service body. It features a host of lockable storage compartments as well as an Miller EnPak welder.

The truck has also been equipped with an Addictive Desert Designs HoneyBadger front bumper, extended fender flares and a Warn winch. Other highlights include a Rhino Rack Pioneer Tray, a 55-gallon fuel tank and a RotopaX fuel cell.

If that wasn’t impressive enough, the truck comes with a matching off-road trailer. It features numerous storage compartments as well as a CVT hard shell tent and a Leitner Designs bed rack.

While the XD is known for its diesel engine, the Ultimate Parks Titan has a 5.6-liter petrol V8 that produces 390 hp (291 kW / 395 PS) and 394 lb-ft (534 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a seven-speed automatic transmission which sends power to a four-wheel drive system with an electronic locking rear differential.

The truck will be used by the Canyon Field School which “offers unique opportunities for youth to experience the great outdoors in the heights and depths of Grand Canyon National Park.”
