If you don’t pay attention to what’s going on right in front of you, you’re basically setting yourself up for failure, which is always a tremendously dangerous thing to do while behind the wheel of a car.

Unfortunately for multiple individuals, the driver of a white Range Rover Sport failed to notice slower or stationary traffic ahead (hard to tell), and steered to their right in order to avoid crashing into the back of a black sedan. Safe to say, that decision wasn’t a very good one.

Three cars took damage

What the RRS driver failed to notice was the black Mercedes SUV driving slightly behind them in the adjacent lane. The two made contact and the Merc went on to hit a utility pole and flip over onto its roof.

Despite being held by power lines, the pole ended up falling on top of the British SUV, which by the way also crashed into yet another vehicle after bumping into the Mercedes. Thankfully there weren’t any serious injuries.

So then what could the Range Rover Sport driver have done differently? Considering the apparent lack of attentiveness, not much beyond a certain point – it was between smashing into the rear of another car or taking your chance switching lanes and hoping nobody would be there. It’s almost a lesser of two evils type of situation, although both scenarios can often have equally bad ramifications.

According to the description of the video, the incident took place in Moscow on May 18.
