Buying a used Formula One car is not something many people have ever considered, if they have the funds to do so.
Championship-winning cars and those driven by superstars such as the late Ayrton Senna or Michael Schumacher an, of course, Ferraris are the most desirable (and expensive), but one can also get other F1 cars too.
Although they are very limited and generally limited to private sales, they occasionally pop up on the radar, like the BMW-Sauber in question from Race Cars Direct.

What you’re looking at is a 2007 F1.07-06B which was driven by the likes of four-time Formula 1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel, fan-favorite Robert Kubica, and Nick Heidfeld. The listing doesn’t state if the car was used in races or for development and testing, but does confirm that it isn’t currently fitted with its screaming V8 – which means you’ll have to source one yourself.
While the engine might be missing, the Sauber does include all other original components, including the brakes, transmission, and even the original steering wheel, a component which can cost between $50,000 and $100,000. If the person who buys the car does decide to fit it with a V8 and not just keep it as a rolling chassis for display, it’s hard to think of a more extraordinary track day car.
The listing doesn’t provide an asking price for the vehicle and states that it is currently located in Switzerland. So, any takers?
