After lending its underpinnings to the Renault Alaskan and the Mercedes-Benz X-Class, the Nissan Navara has welcomed a few upgrades of its own.

For the 2020MY, the one-ton pickup truck still uses the 163 PS (161 hp / 120 kW) 2.3-liter dCi diesel engine, but the mill is now fitted with two turbochargers, which have lifted the torque by 22 Nm (16 lb-ft) to 425 Nm (313 lb-ft). Moreover, the 163 PS and 190 PS versions are now compliant with the Euro 6d-temp emission standard.

Another novelty is the introduction of an all-new six-speed manual transmission, with longer ratios and shorter shift pattern., while the addition of rear brake discs and calipers instead of drums and larger front discs have resulted in the braking force being reduced by 40 percent. Additionally, the multi-link rear suspension, with new dual-stage coil springs, has been made standard across the range. The rear ride height has also been raised by 25 mm (1 in) and the payload has increased by up to 45 kg (100 lbs), depending on the version.

Exterior updates are modest and include black bezel LED headlights and a couple of new wheels in 17 and 18 inches.

A new infotainment system, with an 8-inch touchscreen display, is the only change made inside. It’s standard from the N-Connecta grade, along with Apple CarPlay, and gives owners access to different functions. Users can also locate the vehicle, check the level of fluids, lock and unlock the doors and send the destination to the sat-nav ahead of departure.

Pricing for the revised Navara kicks off from £21,850 ($27,632/€24,665) in the United Kingdom for the King Chassis Cab with AWD and the new six-speed manual gearbox. For the range-topping Double Cab N-Guard, with AWD and the 7-speed auto, customers will have to pay a minimum of £31,125 ($39,362/€35,136).
