The second generation Renault Koleos has received a mid-cycle facelift, three years after production of the mid-size SUV kicked off.
Visual changes on the outside are very subtle and include a more prominent grille, larger skid plates and new chrome trim. In addition, the 2020MY Koleos gets standard Pure Vision LED headlights across the range, 3D effect taillights and a bigger brake light. The exterior updates are completed by the addition of the new Vintage Red metallic color and new two-tone alloy wheels.

Moving on to the interior, you’ll find improved soft touch materials, revised trim inserts and two-stage reclining rear passenger seatbacks. Moreover, the R-Link2 infotainment system has been enhanced with the addition of the Apple CarPlay smartphone integration feature for iOS devices, which applies to the 7- and 8.7-inch screens. Renault also gave the facelifted Koles a new Automatic Emergency Braking system with Pedestrian Detection.
The engine lineup has been revised as well, with the French firm’s Hyundai Santa Fe, Nissan X-Trail and Skoda Kodiaq rival now offering two new diesel engines. The 1.8-liter dCi pushes out 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) and 340 Nm (251 lb-ft) of torque while the larger 2.0-liter unit produces 190 PS (187 hp / 140 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft). Both of them are coupled to an X-Tronic CVT as standard with the bigger engine being offered with the All Mode 4×4-i all-wheel drive system.
Renault will kick off sales of the SUV next month, with first customer deliveries set for October. It will be available in the Iconic and GT-Line trim levels, with the base model featuring standard LED headlights, hands-free parking, reversing camera, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry, dual-zone climate control and ambient lighting. Pricing will be announced in the coming weeks.
