Jaguar has announced the new, even more exclusive Touring specification of the XE SV Project 8 for those who want the fastest road-legal sedan around the Nurburgring but would like something a little bit more discreet.
Mind you, the term is used very loosely here, as the only changes are the replacement of the adjustable carbon-fiber rear wing with a more discreet spoiler and a fixed front splitter to maintain aerodynamic balance – the rest of the package remains as bonkers and in-your-face as ever.
Power comes from a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 with 592 HP (600 PS) driving all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. 0-60 mph comes in just 3.3 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.7) while top speed is limited to 186 mph (300 km/h) in the case of the Project 8 Touring, slightly down on the “normal” Project 8’s 200 mph (320 km/h).

SVO went to town with the XE in order to extract the desired performance and handling targets for the high performance sedan. Everything but the roof and the front doors are unique to the Project 8, while the chassis was re-engineered to fit the V8 and features a clever, and very expensive, suspension setup that allows it to break lap records and, at the same time, remain civilized enough to be used as a daily driver.
Customers will be able to spec their XE SV Project 8 Touring in four signature paint finishes: Valencia Orange, Velocity Blue, Corris Grey Satin of British Racing Green.
Jaguar will build only 15 Touring-spec Project 8s worldwide, making this the most exclusive variant of an already pretty rare, and very wild, machine. We think we can already hear the phones at Coventry ringing off the hook…
