There are only a few dozen production road car models which can record quarter-mile times in the 10-second range; and we can now add the 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 to that list.
The owner of a 991.2-generation GT3 recently took out his stunning sports car to the drag strip and set to find out what it’s made of. In his best run, he recorded a 60-foot time of 1.69 seconds and crossed the quarter-mile mark at a blistering 10.926-seconds at 125.46 mph (201.9 km/h).

In a world where series production cars like the McLaren 720S can set quarter mile times in the 9-second range, it could be easy to discount the 911 GT3. However, a look through a list of the fastest production cars down the quarter-mile reveals that the vast majority of them use some form of forced induction and are often all-wheel drive. The GT3 has a relatively small 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six with rear-wheel drive and has a quarter mile time roughly on par with a stock McLaren 570S. Color us impressed.
However, it is worth pointing out that the following GT3 owner was only able to record a single sub-11 second quarter mile in the car where ordinarily it will lay down times in the low 11-second range. Cracking into the 10-second barrier also required a specially-prepped drag strip and would be virtually impossible to replicate on the road and with street-legal tires.
