Even if you’re in a rush, “launching one on the inside” like you’re the second coming of Lewis Hamilton, isn’t something you want to be doing in most cases. By the way, that goes double for when you can’t actually see around the next bend.
That’s pretty much what happened to the driver of the dark SUV that blasted past the cammer at roughly the 25-second mark and immediately found itself face to face with another off-roader coming the other way.
Not much is known about the crash, other than the fact that it occurred on June 23rd in Vanino, Khabarovsk, Russia. From what we can gather, even though the two vehicles did not collide head-on, this still ended up looking like a very serious crash.
We’re particularly concerned about the driver/occupants of the grey SUV, since it ended up bouncing off after the initial contact, skidding towards oncoming traffic. It narrowly avoided the cammer, yet we can’t tell what happened to it right after that.

As for whose mistake this was, that’s pretty straight forward to deduce. While the overtaking maneuver itself wasn’t illegal, it was definitely poorly planned and executed even worse. The driver-at-fault made a stupendously poor yet surprisingly quick decision in attempting to steer towards the side of the road, as if the other driver wouldn’t have had the exact same thought.
This is why one should always slow down while approaching this type of bend (poor visibility on a single lane road).
