The Subaru WRX has its roots firmly placed in the world of rallying and, as a result, sports a trick all-wheel drive system. This one, though, is a little different.
The car, recently featured by the Hoonigan guys, is owned by Christian Ngo, a man who has a passion for drifting but wanted a Subaru that could kick out its rear end easily and put on exciting displays of burning rubber and smoke.
Many of the cars featured on the Hoonigan channel, such as this Hellcat-powered Mazda Miata or Dodge Viper drift car, are extremely expensive and totally untouchable to us mere mortals. However, anyone who owns a (much more affordable) WRX can turn their car into a similarly tail happy drift car with limited modifications.

The most important alteration is a unit that sits in place of the center differential and ensures all the power is sent to the rear wheels. In addition, a wide-angle steering kit has been installed and some engine and exhaust work has also been performed, but it doesn’t seem to be overly comprehensive.
Now, even a stock WRX can be a joy to drive and, if you know what you’re doing, drift, too. Thus, when power only goes to the rear, we can only imagine things get even more interesting.
