The facelifted Renault Koleos has not reached Australian shores yet, but the automaker’s local importer has something to sweeten the wait.
It’s called the Koleos Formula Edition and it’s a limited-run model inspired by Aussie F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo and Renault’s rich motorsport heritage. Limited to under 400 units, the Koleos Formula Edition is based on Australia’s most popular specification, the mid-range Zen.
Obviously, it features several additional features including 19-inch Proteus alloys wheels with black center caps, black mirror caps, silver side steps, and a Formula Edition sticker at the rear. The limited-run model is available in just three exterior colors: Universal White, Metallic Grey, and Metallic Black.

That’s not a lot but it’s just enough to grant the Renault Koleos a sportier appearance. Don’t expect wonders in the engine compartment, though. The Koleos Formula Edition features the same 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine rated at 171 PS (169 hp) and 226 Nm (167 lb-ft) of torque, mated to an X-Tronic CVT. Be aware that it only comes in a front-wheel-drive specification, though.
As with the Zen, the Formula Edition brings a standard 7-inch touchscreen-operated infotainment system with navigation, front and rear parking sensors with reversing camera, heated artificial leather seats, and one-touch easy folding rear seats, among other features.
The Renault Koleos Formula Edition is priced from AU$36,490 (about $25,300) drive-away nationwide — the same price as the Zen grade it’s based on. “The Renault Koleos continues to be the best-selling passenger model in the Renault Australia fleet and we are confident this new addition will further boost interest and sales,” said Anouk Poelmann, Renault Australia Managing Director.
