A cyclist in Hillsboro, Oregon has captured footage of the moment a driver in a Toyota attempted to slash him with a knife.
Local resident Henry Bosak was cycling on Northwest Hornecker Road around 2 p.m. on Saturday when a car sped past him and narrowly avoided hitting him. Bosak brushed aside the incident but when he returned home, he reviewed footage of the incident captured by the rear-facing GoPro he has mounted on his bike. He was shocked by what he saw.
While reviewing the footage frame-by-frame, Bosak discovered that the driver of the Toyota had his arm extended out of the car and in his hand was the exposed blade of a knife.

Komo News reports that Bosak turned over the footage to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office who are investigating the incident. The GoPro captured clear images of the Toyota’s license plate as well as the driver and passenger in the car.
An attorney for the cyclist says the car was recently sold and the driver had not yet registered the vehicle with the DMV. Bosak believes that if the driver was any closer to him, the knife would have sliced open either his arm or struck him somewhere around his waist.
“I can imagine he probably just missed me with the knife. I feel pretty lucky actually,” Bosak told a local reporter.
We’ve seen incidents between car drivers and cyclists in the past but this is perhaps the most shocking and shows how heated the relationship between the two has become.
