In the world of engines swaps, it’s hard to think of anything much crazier than putting Dodge’s insane Hellcat engine into a tiny Mazda Miata.
Car enthusiasts have a long and proud history of fitting absurdly inappropriate engines into tiny cars and the crew from VMP Performance thought it would be good idea to mate a Hellcat engine with a Miata. The car has not been designed as any kind of track vehicle and was created for one purpose and one purpose only; to perform insane burnouts and donuts.

The crazy Miata build, featured in the video below from Hoonigan Daily Transmission on YouTube, is painted in a bright shade of orange and sits on a set of wheels way too big for its arches which measure 275 mm at the front. However, not even the presence of fat pieces of rubber provide this Miata with anything you could remotely refer to as ‘grip.’
The man behind the project says the car churns out 685 hp at the rear wheels, all of which is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. Due to the car’s huge horsepower, minimal weight, and gearing, it can easily perform donuts and burnouts in sixth gear. There is so much power that even the slightest touch of the throttle sends the wheels spinning furiously and before long, both of the tires were blown to smithereens during the car’s latest outing and it was briefly driven on its wheels and wheels alone.
