If you’re of the mindset that a mid-2000s exotic would look awesome in your driveway, opting for a Ferrari F430 is about as great a choice as you can make, especially if you love great-sounding engines.
In fact, the F430’s naturally aspirated, 4.3-liter V8 is an all-time great that’ll happily rev to nearly 9,000 rpm. It’s also one of the loudest V8s ever built, with its 4-valve cylinder head, valves and intake trumpets sourced directly from Formula 1 – or so Ferrari says anyway…

This example, getting auctioned off on Bring a Trailer, also features GTE Engineering performance shift actuators and a Clarion touchscreen head unit with navigation. Helping it stand out even more are its Scuderia fender shields and rear diffuser, plus the red-painted brake calipers with Ferrari logos.
Inside, there are power-adjustable Daytona-style seats with red stitching and piping, optional carbon fiber accents, leather headliner, and a premium audio system with a subwoofer by Clarion, which was a $3,800 upgrade. The car’s digital odometer shows 25,200 miles (40,555 km), with approximately 4,000 miles (6,437 km) having been added by the current owner, who acquired the car as Certified Pre-Owned from Ferrari of Salt Lake City.
As for performance, the F430 delivers 483 HP (490 PS) and 343 lb-ft (465 Nm) of torque to the rear wheels via a six-speed automated manual that, admittedly, is its weakest point (the dual-clutch was one generation into the future). In a straight line, it can accelerate from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.6 seconds, before maxing out at 196 mph (315 km/h). So yes, it’s plenty fast even by today’s standards, and arguably much better sounding than most modern day turbocharged supercars.
