The Harley-Davidson Fat Boy is one of the most recognizable motorcycles on the planet and Lego has just unveiled its replica model of the famed two-wheeled machine.

The Fat Boy forms part of the Lego Creator Expert series and looks to be quite involving to build. In fact, it is made up of no less than 1,023 individual pieces, a rather staggering figure when you consider that the model itself isn’t huge, measuring 7-inches (20 cm) higher, 7-inches wide (18 cm), and 12-inches (33 cm) long.

Lego says some of the key features of the motorcycle are large rubber tires, a teardrop fuel tank, an inbuilt speedometer, and most impressively, a Milwaukee-Eight engine which actually features moving parts. In addition, there are dual exhaust pipes, functional handlebar steering, as well as moveable shift pedal and brake levers, kickstand, and a sturdy display stand.

When constructed, buyers will simply need to spin the Fat Boy’s rear wheel to see the engine spring into life. The dark red and black color scheme is also a replica of one finish the bike can be ordered in.

Lego will kick off sales of its Harley-Davidson Fat Boy on August 1 with a recommended price of $99.99 in the U.S. and $139.99 in Canada.

To celebrate the launch of the kit, Lego Master Builders have actually created a one-off, life-size model of the Fat Boy made up of no less than 69,569 individual pieces. It took a cool 865 hours for this replica to be built and it will be displayed at select Lego stores and Harley-Davidson events.
