Were you under the impression that the Rolls-Royce Cullinan isn’t capable of injecting its occupants with a heavy dose of adrenaline? Well, prepare to be blown away by the unofficial king of SUVs, which was demonstrated on the Goodwood Hill over the weekend, by racing driver Daryl Jones.
For a high-riding vehicle weighing well over 2 and a half tons (5,500+ lbs), the Cullinan is surprisingly fast. Naught to 60 (0-96 km/h) is estimated to take just a little over 5 seconds and top speed is electronically capped at 155 mph (250 km/h).

As for the 6.75-liter, twin-turbo V12 engine, it’s been re-engineered and delivers a healthy 571 PS (563 hp / 420 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft). Peak torque is available from just 1,600 rpm which, combined with an advanced all-wheel drive system and ‘Everywhere’ driving mode provides peace of mind to those holding the wheel, assuring that they can tackle just about any surface, from grass to mud, snow and sand. But, since very few will ever leave the beaten path, the magic carpet ride is still a thing.
Now, we’ll move over to the footage in a few seconds, but before that, allow us to make one final observation: this was one of the most comfortable runs up the Goodwood Hill of the 2019 edition. So, without further ado, here’s the Rolls-Royce SUV in action, in between the haystacks.
