Rumors about a possible XT4-V have been swirling ever since images of a V-branded crossover surfaced on Cadillac’s website last October.
Fast forward to today and Cadillac Society has posted pictures of the model in the flesh. Sent in by an anonymous source, the images show an XT4 with 2.7 T and V-Series badging. There’s also carbon fiber exterior trim and what appears to be a four-tailpipe sports exhaust system.
While the images are certainly interesting, they should be taken with a grain of salt as the 2.7 T badge seems out of place. Both the CT4- and CT5-V lack any reference to their engine size and the nomenclature doesn’t mesh with Cadillac’s convoluted torque-based naming system.
If the images are legit, and that’s a big if, the model could be equipped with the same turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine that powers the 2020 CT4-V. It produces 320 hp (239 kW / 324 PS) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque.
While the engine isn’t too insane, it would be a huge improvement over the XT4’s turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that develops 237 hp (177 kW / 240 PS) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque. The model would also be more powerful than the upcoming Mercedes-AMG GLA 35 which is slated to have a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 301 hp (225 kW / 306 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque.

While some fans might balk at the idea of XT4-V, the model could fit into Cadillac’s new strategy of offering less powerful and more affordable V-Series variants.
