If you’re a fan of the Toyota 86, we suggest you look away now as this is a very sad sight to see.
What we have here is a gloss black 2019 model year 86 which was recently crashed and parted out by 417 Motoring Parts in Missouri. Ordinarily, we don’t report on crashes like these as they happen all too frequently and seeing a destroyed 86 also isn’t a particularly rare occurrence. However, there is something which differentiates this incident from most others.
Shortly after 417 Motoring Parts took possession of the 86, the company published a video of the utterly destroyed Toyota actually moving under its own power. To say this isn’t something you see every day would be an understatement.

We don’t have any details about the accident which the car was involved in but evidently, it slammed side-on into a tree or a pole causing one side to cave in. The windshield has also been broken and the roof bent out of position. One would think they’d be no way this car would ever move under its own power again but it appears that the powertrain survived without terminal damage. In fact, the engine itself is actually up for sale on Instagram with an asking price of $3,300 with just 6,500 miles (10,460 km) on the clock).
Buying an engine out of a severely-damaged car can be risky but it can also be a great way to save a serious amount of money for an engine swap project you may have in mind.
