Transporting an inflatable pool isn’t rocket science, but the task provided too difficult for a woman in Illinois to comprehend.
According to the Dixon Police Department, Jennifer Janus Yeager decided to transport the pool without deflating it. To keep the pool from flying off the roof of her vehicle, she decided to put her two kids in it. Needless to say, this is incredibly lazy, stupid and dangerous.
A concerned citizen saw Yeager driving her Audi Q5 with the pool and kids on the roof, and called police. The Dixon Police Department responded and pulled Yeager over.
Yeager allegedly told officers that she went to a friend’s house to inflate the pool and had her two daughters ride inside to keep it from flying off the roof on her way home. Unsurprisingly, officers arrested Yeager for putting her kids in harms way.
Yeager faces a long list of charges including two counts of endangering the health or life of a child and two counts of reckless conduct. She was also cited for “failure to secure a passenger of the age of 8 and under the age of 16.”
Following her arrest, Yeager was released after posting bond. However, police had a message for her and anyone else without common sense: “Having your children sit in an inflatable pool on top of your car while driving will get you arrested.”

Thankfully no one was injured, but the situation could have turned deadly if the pool would have flown off the vehicle or Yeager was involved in an accident. It’s also worth mentioning this isn’t the first time this has happened as a Wisconsin mother was arrested nearly two years ago for having her nine year old son hold down a plastic pool on the roof on her minivan.
