Mil-Spec Automotive has unveiled the latest Hummer H1 that it’s worked on and fittingly, the vehicle looks perfectly suited to a war zone.

Mil-Spec Automotive first started creating custom H1s in 2015 and this example is the seventh which the company, led by three 23-year-olds, has worked on and one of the 12 limited-run ‘Launch Edition’ models it is currently constructing.

Like the ones before it, the H1 from Mil-Spec is powered by a 6.6-liter Duramax diesel V8 pumping out an impressive 500 HP and 1000 lb-ft (1355 Nm) of torque mated to an Allison six-speed automatic transmission. Mil-Spec has also removed the H1’s factory full-time four-wheel drive system and replaced it with a more simple NVG 242 transfer case found in various GM pickup trucks.

A pair of Mil-Spec’s Hummers were recently featured on Jay Leno’s Garage and while one of them was a droptop, this is a four-door hardtop. It is painted in a Deep Sky Black paint which is Kevlar-infused and offset by semi-gloss black powercoated components. Inside, it sports plush Nappa leather with quilted stitching and custom lumbar supports per the request of the owner. There is also a Momo Prototipo steering wheel, a JL Audio infotainment system, and numerous black powdercoated parts.

Not only does the interior appear to be a nice place to spend time in, the vehicle is also exceptionally capable off-road and includes the heavy-duty axleshafts and portal hubs from the military Humvee. A new suspension system is also featured and nearly doubles wheel travel to 13-inches at each corner, while Wilwood six-piston brakes take care of deceleration.
