If you’re fascinated by classic cars previously owned by celebrities, then you might want to take a look at this 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona.
Of course being a Daytona alone should do the trick, especially if you’re resident in the UK as this is one of the 158 RHD examples delivered new in the country from the factory.
One of its keepers happened to be Sir Elton John, from 1973 to 1975, making it one of the first Ferraris owned by the legendary rock star. It’s finished in the desirable Rosso Chiaro paint over a black VM8500 Connolly Vaumol leather interior, which was re-trimmed in 2017.

The Italian V12 gran tourer comes with an extensive history file, including the factory build sheets, order forms, every Ferrari service and receipt, as well as every MOT certificate to confirm the indicated 82,000 miles.
“Sir Elton John famously has a long affinity with Ferrari, having owned several range-topping V12 models that included a 365 BB, Testarossa and 512 TR over the years,” said Arwel Richards, Silverstone Auctions Classic Car Specialist. “It is believed this Daytona was his first Ferrari, buying it at the age of 26 in 1973 and keeping it until 1975, parked alongside his 1974 Ferrari 365 Berlinetta Boxer.”
After the famous musician, this 365 GTB/4 Daytona was owned by members of the Ferrari Owners Club, with one of them keeping it for 16 years. It was then sold through Silverstone Auctions in 2017 and is now offered by the deceased’s estate at the sale of Ferraris and Porsches at the Dallas Burston Polo Club on September 21.
The celebrity-owned Ferrari Daytona is estimated to fetch between £425,000 and £475,000 ($517k-$578k at current exchange rates).
