Netflix has announced that The Fast and The Furious, 2 Fast 2 Furious and The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift movies will be pulled from the streaming platform at the beginning of September.
Before you get too concerned, Netflix isn’t abandoning the franchise entirely, and the move to drop the first three films simply forms part of its continued move to drop old titles and add new ones. The eagerly-awaited Fast and Furious: Spy Racers animation series is still in the works and expected to launch next year.

Spy Racers will have a different cast than the films and be centered on a character called Tony, the teenage cousin of Dominic Toretto. Tony will find himself recruited by a bunch of friends into a government agency aiming to infiltrate an elite racing organization that is (what else…) “bent on world domination” and it will be up to Tony and his crew to put a stop to their nefarious plans.
Fast and Furious: Spy Racers isn’t the only way for franchise enthusiasts to get their street racing fix. The first spin-off film in the long-running film series, Hobbs & Shaw, is in theaters around the world right now. It may be short of street racing but nevertheless has its fair share of cool cars and crazy driving stunts.
Next year, Fast and Furious 9 will drop. Filming for the blockbuster commenced a couple of months ago in the UK and recently went to Georgia, where a pair of 2020 orange 2020 Supras were snapped on set, obviously as a nod to the late Paul Walker’s fourth-gen Supra from the first movie.
