A Toyota dealership in Florida that briefly had a 2020 Supra listed for sale at an exorbitant $198,563 claims to have ultimately sold the new sports car for $100,000.
The Supra Launch Edition in question first hit Autotrader two weeks ago from Toyota Kia of Vero Beach with a near-$200,000 asking price, more than triple the car’s $55,250 base MSRP. Unsurprisingly, the dealership couldn’t find anyone willing to spend so much money on a Supra which despite how good it is, still wears a Toyota badge.

According to Jalopnik, the Autotrader listing was modified to $58,361 a few days after the car was first listed for sale at $198,563. Intrigued as to why the car’s price had fallen so significantly and suddenly, Jalopnik reached out to the dealership and earlier this week, were informed by a dealership representative the car had sold for $100,000.
Now, it remains to be seen whether or not the dealership did in fact sell the Supra Launch Edition for six figures but if it did, it would put the final sales price at the top end of the $80,000 to $100,000 range that many dealerships are looking to sell Supra Launch Editions for.
Considering how long the world was waiting for the all-new Supra, it really comes as no surprise that people are willing to pay huge premiums to be among the first to own the car. But is the Supra worth almost $100,000 when a little bit of patience and a lot less money could land you behind the wheel of a 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray with the Z51 Performance Package? We’ll let you decide.
