Former professional skier and YouTube Jon Olsson is known for his love of customizing extremely expensive exotics and has announced that his distinctive Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² is up for grabs.
We’ve shared images and videos of the overhauled G-Wagen in the past and in August last year, it was briefly listed up for sale. However, it didn’t and has remained in the hands of Olsson since then, while earlier this year, it was outfitted with a bespoke soft top.

Olsson’s G500 4×4² is unique because, in late 2017, he decided to chop off its roof and turn it into a roadster. He also cut the front windshield so the off-roader could fit in the small parking garages found under Monaco. In a recent vlog, Olsson confirmed he is parting ways with the vehicle after receiving various offers for it.
It’s not just the roof, or lack thereof, that makes this G-Class unique, though. In addition, it has undergone comprehensive powertrain work with its twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 now pumping out a mighty 850 horses. There is also a bespoke exhaust system which rumbles unlike any other G-Class.
The vehicle is available through Supergarage in Marbella, but no asking price has been made public. That’s not a surprise considering how much work has been done to this G-Class, making it rather difficult to value. We suspect that those interested in buying it will engage in a bidding war that could see it sell for much, much more than its €226,100 ($250,500) sticker price when it was new.
