If you live in the UK and you’d like a quick yet compact Mercedes, you can now order the AMG-powered A 45 S and CLA 45 S Coupe from £50,570 ($61,681) and £52,145 ($63,602) respectively. Meanwhile, the CLA 45 S Shooting Brake is £53,570 ($65,340).
All three variants are powered by the same turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit, cranking out 415 HP (421 PS) and 368 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque in this range-topping spec.
Power is then sent to all four wheels with the aid of a new eight speed dual-clutch gearbox, allowing the A 45 S to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.9 seconds, while the CLA 45 S needs another 0.1 seconds to reach that mark. Unlike the base 45 variants and their 155 mph (250 km/h) top speed, the S models can max out at 167 mph (270 km/h).
Moving on to standard equipment, we should mention the following exterior details: 19-inch alloys, red calipers, AMG suspension with AMG Ride Control, AMG-specific grille, wider front wings with flared arches, wider side skirts, diffuser and vehicle color spoiler lip.
Meanwhile, the interior features the AMG Night Pack, ARTICO and DINAMICA microfiber performance seats, AMG steering wheel, AMG Drive Unit with driver’s pack and AMG Track Pace, heated front seats, mirror package, parking package, 2 x 10.25-inch displays, keyless entry, illuminated door sills, 64-color ambient lighting, wireless charging and more.
