Remember the Need for Speed gaming franchise? It’s a rival to the likes of Forza, Gran Turismo or Assetto Corsa, but only if your goal is to blast down the road in an arcade sort of way, defying the laws of physics as you attempt to escape the law.
This latest installment is no racing simulator either. In fact, Electronic Arts describes NFS Heat as “the ultimate street racer versus cop fantasy,” meaning the focus is on customization and urban battles against a rogue police task force that roams the streets of the fictional Palm City.

“We’re delivering more options than ever before for players to be unique and make themselves known,” said Ghost Games (an EA studio) exec, Riley Cooper. “Our fans have been clear that they want more cars, more customization, and more challenges, and we’re tuning up on every aspect.”
“From your character’s style to your car’s performance and your driving style, we’re fueling everyone’s creativity with this new game.”
Launching the game means entering a new open world where you’ll be able to compete in the Speedhunders Showdown by day, or risk it all by night while taking part in underground races and going up against cops.
If you pre-order the standard edition, you will receive a K.S Edition styled Mitsubishi Evolution X, while going in early on the Deluxe Edition means you get three K.S Edition styled cars (BMW i8 Coupe, Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe, Corvette Grand Sport).
The NFS Heat will be available from November 8 on Xbox One, PS4 and Windows PC.
