In the drag racing world, there are many cars that stand out. Most have been tuned to the teeth, whereas others are simply hot by nature, like the Bugatti Chiron that has tried its luck at the strip a few times.
This story, though, isn’t about a high-end exotic machine, a tuned Godzilla or a Supra with an insanely powerful 2JZ under the hood, but about a… shed.
We kid you not, this is actually a shed, although one that started life as a Volkswagen Passat two decades ago.

For whatever reason, its owner decided that it would look better as a small building, so the transformation began. VW’s midsize family saloon then received a heart transplant, with an Audi RS4 B7 serving as the donor and giving its 4.2-liter V8 and Quattro all-wheel drive system. The power unit was then tuned to deliver around 450 horsepower, or 30 more than the stock model.
The old Passat turned into a building and powered by a slightly improved RS4 engine is no stranger to drag strips, and its most recently visited the Santa Pod Raceway in the UK. In the video that follows, it took on a Vauxhall Astra H, running the course in 15.495 seconds, at 86.7 mph (139.5 km/h). As for its rival, it was a tad slower, but still, it must have been hard to cross the finish line behind a building on wheels.
