With heaps of choices in this heavily-contested niche, the best time to buy a premium sports car is now – and this video stars four of the industry’s finest.
First up we have the Porsche Cayman GTS. It is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter flat-four with 365 HP and 309 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque sent to the rear wheels. The Cayman has long been one of the best sports cars money can buy, but in this test, it goes up against some stiff competition.
Lined up alongside it is the latest Audi TT RS Roadster. It features a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder with 394 HP and 354 lb-ft (480 Nm) and benefits from the use of an advanced all-wheel drive system that should help it a great deal in a straight-line.

The final two contenders are the brand-new Toyota Supra and an Alpine A110 tuned by Litchfield. The Supra’s 3.0-liter turbocharged six has 335 HP and is, of course, rear-wheel drive, as is the Alpine, which uses a small 1.8-liter turbocharged that, thanks to some Litchfield trickery, has 300 HP and also weighs considerably less than any of the others.
An argument can certainly be made that it’s not fair to pit a tuned Alpine against stock rivals, but it’s not as though the its upgrades are particularly costly or extensive, setting buyers back just £995 ($1207).
We won’t tell you which car comes out on top, but prepare to be surprised…
