The 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG Black Series may not be as fast or as well-rounded as a new C63, but we can’t think of many AMG models we’d rather have.

Mercedes only ever built 500 examples of the CLK 63 AMG Black Series, and of these, only 350 were imported into the United States. The following black example currently listed on Bring A Trailer is looking for a new home and comes with service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Power for the CLK 63 AMG Black Series is provided by a naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V8 with 500 HP at 7,000 rpm and 465 lb-ft (630 Nm) of torque at 5,250 rpm, which results in a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint in about four seconds.

This particular example is sitting on a set of stunning 20-inch HRE wheels and includes bright green brake calipers. The standard shocks were also replaced with JRZ single-adjustable coilovers at all four corners and there is an aftermarket exhaust system as well as aftermarket brake discs.

With two days left in the auction, the highest bid is $40,500. Not exactly cheap for an 11-year old car, but then again, it’s got only 29,300 miles (47,153 km) on the clock – plus, the CLK 63 Black Series, apart from rare, is also a hoon to drive.
