As the first reviews of the all-new RS7 Sportback have come out, so have other videos that stray from the usual formula.
It’s one of the latter that caught our attention, as it shows Audi’s super sedan in a continuous acceleration run from zero to over 200 km/h (0-124 mph).
To get the most out of the car, you have to select the sportiest drive mode and engage launch control. With everything sharpened up, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 and upcoming BMW M8 Gran Coupe rival rockets to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.6 seconds and maxes out at 250 km/h (155 mph), 280 km/h (174 mph) with the Dynamic Package, or 305 km/h (190 mph) if you opt for the Dynamic Plus.

That’s supercar territory for the 2020 RS7, whose 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 that’s supplemented by a 48V system, delivers 600 PS (592 hp / 441 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. Channeling all that output to the both axles is an 8-speed automatic transmission.
In addition to the mild-hybrid system, the German model features other clever solutions to improve fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, like cylinder deactivation technology that can shut down four of the cylinders under certain conditions.
The dynamic all-wheel steering and adaptive air suspension can prep the new RS7 Sportback for all scenarios, from a comfortable highway cruising to an open track day. And you can do it all without having to sacrifice the backseat or cargo area, but that’s the usual stuff you get in most reviews. For now, let’s see how that acceleration looks on the uber-Audi’s digital speedometer.
