Toyota is giving fans of rugged off-roaders one more reason to consider its 4Runner with the new Venture Edition.
New for the 2020 model year, the 4Runner Venture Edition enhances the body-on-frame SUV’s charm thanks to new features such as a standard Yakima Megawarrior roof rack, Gunmetal-colored 17-inch TRD wheels, black-painted mirror caps, door handles and roof spoiler, as well as black Toyota badging and logos.
Inside, the special edition 4Runner comes with SofTex-trimmed seats with TRD lettering on the headrests of the powered and heated front seats. The cabin offers standard all-weather floor mats, rear cargo mat and a rear sliding cargo deck.
Moreover, the Megawarrior rack is made of heavy-duty steel and provides additional roof-top storage in a tray that measures 52 inches (1,321 mm) in length, 48 inches (1,219 mm) in width and 6.5 inches (165 mm) in height.

When it comes to off-roading capability, the 4Runner Venture Edition will go pretty much anywhere since it’s based on the TRD Off-Road Premium grade. This means it features a part-time 4WD system that features a 2-speed transfer case with selectable low range. The package also includes a selectable rear differential lock to provide added traction in low range when needed.
The list of standard features also includes Crawl control, which regulates engine speed and braking force to slowly move the vehicle in forward or reverse at one of the five driver-selectable low-speed settings. Active Traction Control is also standard and helps maintain traction by distributing drive force to any wheel in contact with the ground when it detects wheel slippage. Finally, Multi-Terrain Select helps improve grip by controlling wheel spin based on the selected terrain setting (Dirt, Sand or Rock).
On top of all this, the Venture Edition benefits from all the tech updates Toyota gave to the 2020 4Runner, such as a new multimedia system with an 8-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa compatibility and a new instrument panel design with a 4.2-inch MID screen. Also standard are two additional USB ports for rear passengers, Smart Key with Push Button Start, and the Toyota Safety Sense P safety suite.
