Car lovers from all over the world are expected to flock the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show this week to check out in person the newest and latest vehicles and tech the industry has to offer.

For the general public, the event will open its gates on September 14 and will end on 22. On Tuesday, however, journalists will get a first look at all the major premieres announced for this year’s edition. The list is quite long, and you can check it out in detail in our A-to-Z Guide here.

CarScoops got a first taste of the German auto event in some behind-the-scenes photographs. The images show contractors doing the last-minute adjustments and automakers putting the covers on some of the vehicles that will debut in less than 24 hours.

In our image gallery below, you’ll get an overview of the event – paint buckets and brushes included. But seriously now, you’ll see some mysterious vehicles sitting alongside others that have already been with us for some time.

Ford’s stand partially reveals the new hybrid versions of the Fiesta and Focus, as well as the Kuga and Explorer plug-in hybrids.

Alpina has the new B3 Touring (mostly) under wraps, BMW proudly displays the new M8 and the Land Rover Defender’s new taillights are visible from beneath the cover.

The Honda e is also ready for its grand premiere, as is the new Brabus G V12, which packs an 887 horsepower, twelve-cylinder engine, which sort of makes it the unofficial AMG G65 of the new-gen G-Wagen.

Don’t look for Alpine, Aston Martin, Citroen, DS, Dacia, Ferrari, Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Fiat Chrysler, Jeep, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Infiniti, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Peugeot, Rolls-Royce, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota, Volvo and others because they won’t (officially) attend this year’s edition.
