While it’s not a given that all fast cars prompt their drivers to behave recklessly, having a mighty supercharged V8 engine under the hood can be a big temptation for your right foot. Unfortunately, some people do so while in traffic.
Take the individual behind the wheel of this Cadillac CTS-V Coupe. Not only was he unable/unwilling to stop before the light turned red, he was going fast enough to lose control of the car and spin uncontrollably towards oncoming traffic.
The footage was taken from a Tesla dash cam and posted by one David Whitener, who we presume was driving the electric car at the time. He also mentions that after the spin, the Caddy driver simply carried on his merry way – although we suspect some damage to the car did occur.
From what we can gather, this is a clear case of not adapting your speed to your surroundings. At the same time, it’s quite possible that the driver never intended to stop at the light and was slaloming through traffic even before that group of cars reached the intersection.

We saw a similar accident recently where a Toyota Camry spun out while chasing a BMW 5-Series in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Unfortunately, the driver of that Toyota wasn’t as lucky and wrapped his car around a light pole, flipping over.
It’s that type of crash that usually acts as a deterrent for this type of behavior in the future. Let’s hope the driver of the Cadillac still learned a valuable lesson.
