A rare BAC Mono reviewed by Top Gear America and currently located in San Luis Obispo, California has come up for auction on Bring A Trailer.
There aren’t all that many BAC Monos residing in the United States and this is probably the only example painted Green Pearl Metallic. The car also features optional 17-inch Dymag carbon fiber wheels and a set of standard 17-inch OZ Racing wheels will also be included in the sale. There are a host of other exterior parts made from carbon fiber.
As the BAC Mono is a single-seater with no roof, there’s not much to discuss when it comes to the cabin. What is worth mentioning is the waterproof black suede complete with green stitching. Also included is a six-point Willans harness, a fire suppression system, a brake bias adjuster, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. A carbon fiber helmet is also included with the car. It can be stored in a small compartment up front.

Vehicles like this aren’t driven very often and that’s exactly the case here. In fact, the car has just over 1400 miles (2253 km) on the clock.
Power is provided by a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine tuned by Cosworth and pumping out 280 hp. Current BAC Mono vehicles are sold exclusively with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbo from Mountune. What’s particularly noteworthy about this one is that it is fully street legal and includes an SB100 sticker that provides smog testing exemption status for the life of the vehicle.
At the time of writing the car had attracted a highest bid of $75,000.
