While McLaren’s Lando Norris didn’t have a particularly strong Italian Grand Prix this past weekend, he did seem to really enjoy his time in a road car there.

In an interview for Sky Sports, he drove presenter Rachel Brookes around Monza in a green 600LT Spider (with the roof up, obviously), all while talking about various topics such as his admiration for Valentino Rossi or his freak-out moment at last week’s Belgian Grand Prix.

Brookes asked the young British driver about his reaction to his McLaren breaking down on Lap 43 at Spa, and they both shared a brief laugh with regards to how he sounded over the radio while talking (or, rather, yelling) to his team.

Norris also happens to be a big fan of Rossi and he still stands by his decision to wear bright yellow Rossi merchandise both at the paddock as well as during a recent online racing session with none other than Max Verstappen.

As for the actual race at Monza, Norris could only manage a 10th place finish, unable to catch up to the likes of Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg, who are both currently higher in the Drivers’ standings than him.

The McLaren 600LT Spider is powered by a 3.8-liter twin turbocharged V8 producing 582 HP (600 PS) and 457 lb-ft (620 Nm) of torque. Thanks to a power-to-weight ratio of 457 HP per tonne, it can accelerate to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.8 seconds and to 124 mph (200 km/h) in just 8.4 seconds. Its price? A cool $256,500, thank you very much…
