The G63 6×6 is one of the most insane vehicles ever produced by Mercedes-Benz, and with some used examples fetching over $1 million, one of the most expensive as well. Fortunately, we mere mortals can get a taste of what it will do… in another way.

Traxxas builds some of the finest R/C cars on the market, and the six-wheel drive Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen is its latest creation. As you can see in the video below, the model really is just as capable as the full-size 6×6, albeit on a much smaller scale.

The company says the R/C car offers approach and departure angles of 60 and 55 degrees respectively and 3.14-inches of ground clearance. It also features portal axles, just like the actual G63 6×6, and even remote locking differentials!

The clip shows a pair of R/C models tackling some extremely difficult off-road terrain and is so well shot that you could be forgiven for thinking these were real cars.

We’re first offered a look at them speeding across sand dunes before they start climbing over rocks, putting the advanced six-wheel drive system and locking differentials to the test. The wheels and suspension articulate just like the normal 6×6 and there don’t appear to be many surfaces the models can’t tackle.

The Traxxas website doesn’t say how much its G63 6×6 costs, but reveals the electric powertrain offers Sport, Race, Training, Trail and Crawl modes! Next to that, the fully-operational headlights and turn signals pale into insignificance…
