Chevrolet is bringing back its popular Midnight and Rally special editions for the 2020 model year on the Silverado 1500, with both versions unveiled today at the State Fair of Texas.

Order books are scheduled to open next month, with both the new 2020 Silverado Midnight and Rally set to arrive in dealerships later this year.

“Customer choice is a competitive advantage for Chevrolet, because no two truck drivers are alike,” said Silverado marketing manager, Mark Sobczynski. “Whether it’s the sinister Midnight Edition or a sporty Rally Edition – special editions offer our customers a custom look direct from the factory that fits their unique personality.”

Rally Edition

The Silverado Rally Edition is a street-focused variant available on the Custom and RST trims. It features a sporty appearance and can be had in either Black, Red Hot, Silver Ice Metallic or Summit White.

There’s also a body-colored grille, black Rally stripes on the hood and tailgate, black Chevrolet tailgate lettering, black badging, black Bowties, black exhaust tips and black assist steps.

If you opt for the Custom Rally Edition, you’ll also benefit from having 20-inch black wheels and a 2.7-liter turbo engine working alongside an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The RST Rally Edition on the other hand comes with 22-inch black wheels and offers a choice of three powertrains: 2.7-liter turbo / 8-speed, 5.3-liter V8 / 8-speed or 6.2-liter V8 / 10-speed.

Midnight Edition

Silverado Midnight Edition variants are available on the LT Trail Boss and Custom Trail Boss trims, and come with a 2-inch factory suspension lift, the Z71 Off Road Package with Rancho mono-tube off-road shocks, an automatic locking gear differential, skid plates, 18-inch black wheels and Goodyear Duratrac tires.

Visuals include the black Silverado badging, black grille, black Bowties, black bumpers, black exhaust tips and black off-road assist step – while the red recovery hooks add a little contrast.

The LT Trail Boss Midnight Edition comes with unique High-Intensity LED headlights with dark bezels and full-curtain signature DRLs. It also features Chevy’s 420 HP 6.2-liter V8 engine and 10-speed auto combo, while the Custom Trail Boss Midnight Edition can be had with both this unit, as well as a 5.3-liter V8 with a six-speed automatic.
