In celebration of National Video Games Day, Nissan have come out with a bunch of chair sketches inspired by models such as the GT-R NISMO, the Armada and the all-electric LEAF.
The Japanese automaker has already invested in video gaming and eSports, partnering up with two of the world’s most popular gaming teams, Faze Clan and OpTic Gaming. The announcement was made earlier this year.
“For any company trying to reach the Gen Z and millennial-minded audience, streaming and esports is an enormous opportunity,” said Nissan North America exec Robert Cross at the time. “We believe this partnership presents a new approach in introducing ourselves and connecting with millions of fans through their favorite gamers.”

Nissan’s passion for eSports seems to be ever-growing, with three different gaming seat designs being shown today in the form of sketches. Unfortunately, the company has no plans to build the seats right away, but is interested in gauging public reaction and is asking fans to vote for their favorite design on social media.
Since eSports players spend hours sitting down, their “gaming rigs” play an essential role in their performance. Nissan’s three designs are said to combine both comfort and aesthetics and looking at the GT-R NISMO-inspired one first, we should mention its supposed lightweight carbon fiber and aluminum construction, as well as red leather and synthetic suede surfaces.
Unlike the other two designs, this one is shaped like a proper bucket seat, though if it were real, we imagine it would be more comfortable than the GT-R NISMO’s actual seats.
As for the Armada and LEAF-inspired sketches, the former is meant to be more of a captain’s chair, with climate controlled functions (heating and cooling) and lumbar support for additional comfort. The LEAF chair, on the other hand, boasts USB charging ports and integrated leg rests.
